Happy New Year 2019

Before starting something new, I want to wish all my readers very very happy new year and I also want to review my work till now. So, here I am listing my best of blog posts (which I think). Please comment / suggest if you agree / disagree with me!! 😊

• My first post when I started this blog journey and sharing my views. I wrote about a inspirational book The Secret and I admire it today too. I believe that all the inventions, discoveries, big adventures and businesses start with a small thought. The thoughts are converted into actions and then it becomes a reality. So, that's the secret. Everything is possible, just you have to think and then act to make it possible.
• I like Barefoot College, because it's very inspiring article. I realize that there are different kinds of people in the world. Everyone in this world fights for him / herself or their families. There are very few people who show kindness and help other people to make them independent.
• I have two kids and I try to make them read good books. And the book "Read to me: Raising kids who love to Read" is about how to encourage kids to read more books. So, the post Read to me: Raising kids who love to Read is very inspiring and near to my heart.
• Auburn Smith is a story about a brave girl who has faced all the challenges and didn't let her disability to stop her achieving her goals. 
• Squirrel in swimming pool is the story from my swimming pool. I remember that squirrel shivering when she was wet. But atlast when she was out of shock and ran away, I was the happiest person.

After reviewing these my 5 posts, I am very much encouraged to write more. I like to read and do research about good people, inspiring stories and spread happiness. So, please wait for my next post. It will come sooner definitely.

Squirrel in swimming pool

Yesterday, we opened our backyard swimming pool. It is attached to the deck, so we can see it from our kitchen. I and my husband, were just excited about the pool and talking about it. Just then my husband noticed that there is something in the pool. He said the bird is taking bath in the pool.

We went outside on the deck to see. We noticed that it is not the bird, it is squirrel and she is trying to come out. My husband took the net which he uses to clean the pool and got the squirrel out from the pool and put him out. Squirrel was so scared and in shock, she was not moving at all, we were worried whether she will survive or not. I think she had fallen down from the tree. We didn't know how long was she in the pool.

We were sure that she is alive as her eyes were open. She was too wet and was full of water, so she was not able to move. My husband loves animals and he likes to take care of them. He didn't want to leave her like that. He kept an eye on her, he patted her. He gave some peanuts to eat. He gave some milk to drink. He also gave her some bird feed (yes, they use to eat bird feed when we put for birds). Finally, she started to eat and drink. Some water drained out and she started to feel light and safe.

She started to move and ate all the food. She became active and just ran away. To see that she is safe and fine, we were so happy. It took her 5 minutes to come out of the shock and feel good. There are so many squirrels and birds in our backyard and they run here & there. They just play around and make noises. She was again part of those noises.

Shadi ke Side Effects (2014)

Shadi ke Side Effects, this hindi movie was released last Friday. When I saw the trailer, I thought this is a comedy. Actually it was a good movie and it relates to most of the couples in this world. I liked the story and theme of the movie. Direction was very good. Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan are very good actors and they did their best in the movie. I liked the way how they acted beautifully in very small situations.

One of my favorite scenes was when Farhan met with a father of four kids who tells him his story and after that he agrees to have kids now. Actually this is true. If a woman decides to deliver the child very late, her health issues may happen. So, it's better to have kids early as possible.

It happens to every mother. When a woman gives birth to a kid, she is totally responsible for taking care of her kid. And she becomes so possessive about her kid that it looks like she doesn't care about anything else except her kids. But that is not reality. Being mother of two sons, I know how tired and exhausted we are. Yes, we are enjoying our kids, but we also want support from our husbands. As husbands want our company, we are seeking their support to handle kids for some time. But if husband is like Farhan, who leaves his daughter with a horseman and forgets about it. I am very very lucky that I have got a great husband who takes care of the kids and plays with them.

Overall movie was good, but I don't think the name of the movie matches to the story. The movie's name was Shadi ke Side Effects, but the story was about the changes in couple's lives after their daughter was born. After their marriage, they were very happy couple. When their daughter was born, their life was totally changed. So basically it was showing the side effects of having the kids.

Helplessness

In my neighborhood, an American couple lives with their daughter. She is 10-12 years old and is suffering with Cerebral Palsy. She is bed ridden. I don't know much about her condition, but I have seen her while going to hospital on the stretcher. I can see how dependent is she on her parents and care givers.

When you hear other's problems, you think your problems are not so much problem. My son is having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and I used to feel bad about my situation. Sometimes, I feel very helpless when I am not able to help my son when he is with me. When I heard about my neighbor, I felt their helplessness. They are trying their best for their daughter, whatever they can.

Two days before, some incident happened to the girl. I heard father shouting at somebody on the phone. I was wondering why he is shouting too much. I am not sure what was happened, but I am sure that somebody (nurse, doctor or hospital staff) carelessly handled his daughter and he was demanding to dismiss that person.

His words were - "I don't care, I don't care", "I want to dismiss", "I don't hear you, I don't hear you", "you just say yes, you just say yes", "that's it, that's it", "I don't care, I don't care", "you care about you, I care my daughter", "Do you hear me, I want to dismiss", "I don't care". When he was shouting and screaming on the phone, I felt his helplessness.

When we are there with our kids and we are unable to help them to live and enjoy the life, we are helpless. We try very hard to give them everything they need, but still we know that we also have our own limitations. We won't be there all the time with them.

One of my aunt's son was mentally challenged. She took a good care for him almost 20 years and after that she put him in special hostel for few days. There, suddenly he slipped in the bathroom and got injured. He later died. I can understand my aunt's helplessness.

My other aunt had a son having addiction of alcohol. She tried very hard to get him recover. He married and had one son too. But, he didn't leave alcohol. My aunt tried a lot, but she couldn't. She died. Then her son was sent to rehabilitation institution for treatment, but no use. He later died. I can feel my aunt's feelings when she was alive.

After hearing my neighbor's conversation on phone, so many thoughts came to my mind. My heart was filled with sorrow and helplessness. As a parent, we want best things for our kids, but when we fail to give them a good life, we feel helplessness.
